Full-Text on MELYVL® MAGS database

We list on this page some of the 513 full-text journals and magazines spanning all disciplines available in the MAGS datatabase on MELVYL. The list below is of political science and related titles. The complete list is available elsewhere: Mags and also linked on the Political Resources website: Polisci. It is under the section on "Journals".

This should really help when the Main Library closes for the summer quarter for renovation and earthquake retrofit. The Main Library current periodical room will, however, be relocated to the Science Library, so current issues will always be available.

CAVEAT: Note that the most recent issues may not be available in full-text format yet, nor are the earliest issues. In other words, you may find that only certain issues of a particular journal may be full-text at any present time; abstracts may be made available before the full-text is. Charts/graphs/tables are NOT included in the full-text files.

To use MAGS, type MAGS when in MELVYL®. 
You can search by subject or keyword.  
You can also search what the holdings are of a particular journal [jo] by 
typing, for example:

     f jo american political science review

and then type 

     d

for display; the entry will indicate if text is available.  Currently, 
3,429 articles are indexed for this journal (APSR).

To e-mail the record to your e-mail account (in this example record 2 is 
what is being mailed), type:

     mail to yourname@uci.edu and d 2 text

The entire text will be sent to your mailbox.
