University Archives is open to the public:
Monday-Friday......................................1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
We are closed on all University holidays. Please
ask for the University Archives at the Science
Library Loan Desk.
The University Archives reference desk is staffed
during all open hours to assist researchers in use of
the collections. Limited staff-mediated
photocopying is permitted.

Many of the Archives' published holdings are fully cataloged in the
ANTPAC
and
MELVYL® online catalogs. Finding aids for
archival collections and other uncataloged materials
are available in the Archives.

The University Archives collects and makes
available for research and administrative
use publications and archival materials
documenting the history of UCI.
Materials do not circulate but are available for research
and administrative use in the University Archives reading
room.

Administrative
Records: Records of historical
importance originating in UCI administrative
offices, academic divisions, schools, departments,
organized research units, the Academic Senate,
University committees, etc., including those
records designated for transfer to Archives as set set
forth in the
University of California Records Disposition Schedules.

Publications:
Academic catalogs, handbooks, program
announcements, directories, commencement
and theatrical production programs, art exhibition
catalogs, research publications, newsletters, and miscellaneous
brochures and posters.

Campus
Publicity: UCI press releases, newspaper clippings,
other publications about UCI.

Audio and Visual
Materials: Photographs, slides, films,
architectural plans, audiotapes, videotapes, and
maps documenting campus events and the development
of UCI.

Student
Organizations: Newspapers (including the New University),
newsletters, correspondence, minutes, yearbooks, literary journals, flyers, and other items
of interest.

University
Extension: Annual reports, programs, announcements,
and other publications.

UCI Support
Groups: Records from groups such as Town and Gown,
Alumni Association, and the Friends of the Library.

College of Medicine Historical Archives:
Records dating from the medical school's nineteenth century antecedents.

Archives
Reference Collection:Selected works about UC and UCI.

UCI Theses and Dissertations:
UCI graduate students submit their completed theses to the University
Archives. For complete thesis preparation procedures, please
consult the
UCI Thesis and Dissertation Preparations Manual. The archival copy
is stored at the Southern Regional Library Facility and can be
retrieved for use when the circulating copy is unavailable.

staff, and student organizations are encouraged to

University Archivist or the
Archives Coordinator to determine whether their inactive
records are appropriate for inclusion in the
University Archives.
